Floor Technician – Job Description

Location: Various commercial and construction sites

Reports To: Supervisor / Operations Manager

Position Overview

The Floor Technician is responsible for the care, maintenance, and restoration of various floor surfaces in commercial and post-construction environments. This position plays a key role in ensuring client satisfaction through quality workmanship, attention to detail, and safe operation of floor care equipment and chemicals.

Duties & Responsibilities

➤  Perform stripping, waxing, sealing, buffing, and burnishing of hard floor surfaces (VCT, tile, marble, etc.)

➤  Operate and maintain floor care equipment including buffers, auto-scrubbers, extractors, and burnishers

➤  Perform carpet cleaning and extraction as needed

➤  Handle post-construction cleanup — removing dust, debris, and residues from floors and surfaces

➤  Inspect floors and identify areas requiring repair, refinishing, or special care

➤  Follow proper cleaning procedures, dilution ratios, and safety standards when handling chemicals

➤  Maintain inventory of floor care products and report supply needs to management

➤  Assist with deep cleaning and other janitorial tasks as assigned

➤  Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards

➤  Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and clients

Requirements & Qualifications

✔︎  Previous experience as a floor technician or janitorial worker preferred

✔︎  Knowledge of various floor types and the appropriate care methods

✔︎  Ability to operate floor machines and perform manual labor tasks safely

✔︎  Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results

✔︎  Reliable transportation and consistent attendance

✔︎  Must have own cell phone

✔︎  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods

✔︎  Must be dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions

✔︎  Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if needed

Work Schedule

•  Hours: Monday – Friday, evening shifts (typically 5:00 PM – 12:00 PM)

•  Part-Time opportunities available

•  Occasional weekend work for special projects or post-construction jobs
