Janitorial Position – Job Description
Location: Various commercial and construction sites
Reports To: Supervisor / Operations Manager
Position Overview
The Janitorial / Cleaning Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment at client facilities. This role involves general janitorial duties, deep cleaning, and post-construction cleanup. Hours and locations will vary depending on the job site. Employees may be required to work at more than one facility in a shift. Panhandle Cleaners will supply supplies and equipment. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and can work independently or as part of a team.
Duties & Responsibilities
➤ Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
➤ Clean and disinfect restrooms, breakrooms, offices, and other common areas.
➤ Perform deep cleaning tasks as needed, including floor care, window cleaning, and carpet cleaning.
➤ Handle post-construction cleanup — removing debris, dusting, and polishing surfaces.
➤ Maintain cleaning supplies and report any shortages or equipment malfunctions.
➤ Follow safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
➤ Lock and secure facilities after cleaning is complete (if applicable).
➤ Follow company policies, schedules, and quality standards.
➤ Communicate effectively with supervisors and clients to ensure satisfaction.
Requirements & Qualifications
✔︎ Previous janitorial, custodial, or cleaning experience preferred but not required.
✔︎ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work for extended periods.
✔︎ Reliable transportation to job sites.
✔︎ Must have own cell phone.
✔︎ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
✔︎ Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision.
✔︎ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
✔︎ Willingness to learn and adapt to different work environments.
Work Schedule
• Hours: Monday – Friday, evening shifts (typically between 5:00 PM – 12:00 PM)
• Part-Time: 15–20 hours per week
• Occasional weekend or special project work may be required
